CHALTÉN

The beautiful town of El Chaltén is Argentina’s trekking capital. This is the most famous alpine skyline on our planet. These mountains have drawn climbers from all over the world, and for a reason. Trails wander right out of this lively town with great restaurants and lodging into a wild world of glaciers and granite spires.

See the best of the high country or: escape the crowds on a longer multi-day trek.

It’s a great option for the ones that want to get away from the crowd but still hike the most popular trails around.

4 days away from the crowed

A path that not so many hike. This is uncharted Chaltén. Beautiful hikes, magical forest, nights under the stars and a visit to the Chilean border is on the program.

4 days of trekking and camping in a magical place.

Nestled beneath the towering peaks of the Fitz Roy skyline and surrounded by glacial fed rivers, El Chaltén is an amazing mountain town with great restaurants and lively bars. Right at the town’s border, numerous trails lead up to the mountains and high lakes for some incredible day hiking. Afterwards you can stumble back into town and try Argentinian wines, freshly caught trout, and world-famous steaks.

A world class destination brings crowds, but it’s such a spectacular area I always have felt this place was meant to be shared with all. That being said, if you want a more remote multi-day trek, El Chaltén can provide.
